I think you are misusing the term "Conservative". I've been a life-long Conservative, but I am also a Never-Trumper and have left the Republican Party with many other Conservatives. The RP was invaded, mostly from the Libertarian Party's conspiracy wing, during the Ron Paul Presidential campaign. After that, I got forced out of our local Conservative Forum for not supporting the Tea Party line.

There is nothing related to classic conservative positions in their actions or beliefs. So, the old conservative part of me cringed with each misuse of the word.

That said, that was the only problem I had with your article. Change every use of the term "conservative" with the term "meathead" and I would be in perfect agreement.
