I agree with your statement on Syria. My focus was on the Kurds. As a Vietnam Veteran who was shocked by our abandonment of those Vietnamese who worked so closely with us, the abandonment of the Kurds brought back painful memories.

Unfortunately, it really appears that no one is officially counting casualties along the border. See: Archive: Death on the Border (2010)
