Are phrases, such as Master bedroom, really from Antebellum America, or are they from the European Royalty days. Based on many of the "fictional" views of PBS, serfdom in Europe was in many ways as bad as slavery. Much of our language is still structured that way. Watch a few episodes of Downton Abbey and see how the rooms were divided and separated, based on your "class" and job standing. That same type of structure is still visible in the corporate offices of the American elite.
